in a local front garden - these stand right by the sidewalk. the same garden and some neighbouring it are also full of cosmos, dill and other herbs, grapes, lillies, roses and lots and lots of bees.
lucite block
postbear has added a photo to the pool:
i have a small number of lucite paperweights, pared down from a larger collection in the last couple of years. the ones i no longer wanted were largely church, wedding, personal achievement or corporate in nature. surprisingly, they sold decently on the internet. i had no expectation that they would after having almost no luck selling items i actually valued, but off they went. i could have sold dozens more if i had them, but i'll keep the few that remain (notably chicken embryos and mouse embryos).
junk deletion continues this weekend in the cabbagetown festival/giant neighbourhood yard sale. i'm going to (along with a couple of friends) dispose of a few hundred cds and some other nonsense this coming saturday. the goal is to not bring anything back in the house, but any leftovers are being donated to a couple of charities: PWA, ACT and Sunnybrook Hospital.
leaf, leaves

leaves, pods and branches in a tree in the neighbourhood.
trumpet flower detail
postbear has added a photo to the pool:
a house down the block from me has a peach tree growing in the yard, growing on the tree and wall is a big vine and climbing on this vine is this trumpet flower plant. this little serpent's tongue caught my eye as i was shooting the other flowers.

victor, the dead mystery present, as i found him
postbear has added a photo to the pool:
once again, this is the first photograph in a set - viewed individually they make very little sense (and only nonsense when viewed collectively).
the water heater god in my building decides, every once in a while, that hot water is a privilege and that it must be appeased with fresh blood. after a few days of erratic shower disasters, i set some traps....
36 hours after the traps were set and two of them robbed of their peanut butter and carrot chunk bait, little victor here decided to sacrifice himself for the sake of my cleanliness and the cleanliness of my dishes.
