Most of Toronto's downtown waterfront is built on landfill. Where this development is now used to be the water. They had to dig down several feet and put in a deep concrete casing so that the foundations didn't fill up with water when they laid them. Not sure I care for the design with that odd thing on top (maybe it's an observation deck?)however the rate this development is going up is impressive. There are another two developments I captured in another shot. They are going to completely change the landscape on Queens Quay East of Yonge.
