Continuing my Toy-ronto Life & Riverdale Walks series...

Happy Miniature Sunday!

Here is the April update for my new mini-series in frames of my "Toy-ronto Life" that reflects seasons in this cute miniature district on the edge of Riverdale Park toward Broadview Avenue, filled with the cute buildings of lovely Greektown, the Byzantine-like church including. Many of you saw this view before from a globular perspective as Byzantine Side of Toronto Planet and now I wanted to capture it from another perspective in the tilt-shift mode! :-)

The end of April really was awesome with new green appearing here and there, which really shows in this mini district with the Byzantine church. Spring is toy-some! :-).

More of Toy-ronto fun is coming - stay tuned / bientot a l'ecran :-)

Man at Work

I didn't want to distract him from his work, however I couldn't resist taking this shot. He was so many stories up I didn't think he could possibly be aware I was there. I was wrong, as after I took the shot he turned, smiled and waved at me. I waved back. I really admire skyscraper window-washers, I could not do his job.

Bold Squirrel

I know many people think squirrels are cute. To me they are like rats only with much better PR. Which is why I still can't quite believe I was photographing a squirrel today... however it was too good an opportunity to ignore. I was certain he would run off when he saw me coming but no... he actually sat there without moving, long enough for me to get several shots fairly close...quite remarkable really. It was almost as if he were posing. I think he totally knew he was being photographed.

Fashion District (2)

Fashion District (2)

The second Fashion District boundary marker, on Spadina Avenue, taken against a incredibly blue sky... and it was that blue. I took this shot first, as I waited for a street car. I wanted to take it with buildings in the background (like the first shot) however I felt they would have obscured the intricate art, so I went with the sky and left in the overhead wire. Most of the manufacturing that used to be in the Fashion district no longer remains... however there are quite a few commemorative signs that it was once here and thriving, this is one of them.

Bennett Gates, leading to Philosopher's Walk (Toronto), University of Toronto. In the background are the spires of The University of Trinity College, UofT. The University of Trinity College, commonly known as Trinity College and informally Trin, is a college of the University of Toronto, founded in 1851 by Bishop John Strachan. Trinity was intended by Strachan as a college of strong Anglican alignment, after the University of Toronto severed its ties with the Church of England. In 1904, Trinity joined the university as a member of its collegiate federation.

The Philosopher's Walk (Toronto)
The Philosopher's Walk (Toronto) is a scenic footpath in the main campus of the University of Toronto in Toronto, Ontario. It runs in the north-south direction along the ravine landscape created by Taddle Creek, once a natural waterway that was buried during the Industrial Age and now flowing underground. The path is bounded by several Toronto landmarks, including the Royal Ontario Museum, the Royal Conservatory of Music, Trinity College and the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. It's a beautiful walk.
There is also a footpath of the same name in Kyoto, Japan.
