Grosman’s Tavern

Grosman's Tavern was - and still is - one of the few places in TO where you can hear authentic live Blues and Jazz. It is the original dive. It is not just like a dive. It IS a dive, in every sense of the word. But I thought this mural on the painted north-facing wall was rather neat and a lot more interesting than the frontage. And I love the roof of this building.
Kensington

Bike Chain street art on Augusta Avenue complete with posters and other wall art.
I cannot count the number of times I've walked past this bicycle chain art and never noticed that it spelled "Kensington". That, I realized, is because I always walked on the same side of the road as the street art (the South side) and you can only see it if you are standing some distance away from it and even then it isn't immediately apparent.
The day I took this shot I just happened to be walking up Augusta on the North side of the street and was initially taking photos of something else. As I approached I suddenly saw the oddly-shaped bicycle chain letters spelled out "Kensington" - as it's at the Northern entrance to Kensington Market. Interestingly, though this street art was easy enough to shoot it was hard to present the image in such a way that the word really stood out. It's one of my coolest discoveries, because it was always there even though I didn't "see" it until I did.
